Overview
When you book 5 Days 4 Nights Andaman Tour Package you are opting for much more than beaches and blue waters. This Andaman Delight itinerary has been designed for travellers who are seeking variety, who appreciate colonial history just as much as coral reefs, and who find adventure not only in their dive but also in their forest trek. It is a small yet thorough introduction to the varied nature of the archipelago.
Port Blair is the theme of its sobering historical narrative. The Cellular Jail is not only a monument but it is a window to the freedom struggle in India. The structure itself, with its individual cells designed for solitary confinement, speaks volumes on colonial cruelty. The evening light and sound show helps to add context and emotion and therefore, make history tangible, instead of abstract. Corbyn’s Cove Beach provides a gentler introduction to the islands, a place to get used to island time before the itinerary gets underway.
Ross Island, which was known as the Paris of the East, is a different side of Andaman’s colonial past. This was the administrative headquarters in British rule with a church, hospital, bakery and officers’ clubs. Today, nature has taken back much of it. Trees are growing through building ruins, deer are roaming freely and peacocks are strutting over what were once manicured lawns.
It is haunting in the best sense of the word, a place where history and nature co-exist in unexpected harmony. The short ferry ride from Port Blair makes it easily accessible, but worlds away.
North Bay Island does not disappoint on the adventure front. This is Andaman’s water sports centre with activities ranging from jet skiing to parasailing. The coral reefs here are colorful and easy to access, which is perfect for first-time snorkelers. Glass-bottom boat rides are an alternative for those who wish to see marine life without getting wet. Here’s underwater sea walking, where you walk on the ocean floor with a special helmet, is particularly popular here. The variety of activities means North Bay would be suited to different levels of comfort and interests.
One place where this package stands out is in Baratang Island. The journey involves an early start and is through the thick tropical forests on the Andaman Trunk Road. You can go through the Jarawa Reserve, which is home to one of the most isolated indigenous tribes in the world, a reminder of just how unique this part of the world is. The speedboat ride through narrow mangrove creeks is an exciting experience with sunlight shining through the dense canopy, creating ever-changing patterns on the water.
The limestone caves at Baratang are the reward for the journey. Formed over millennia, these natural forms are impressive in scale and detail. The hike to reach them passes through forest trails that feel truly remote. Nearby mud volcanoes, although not as dramatic as their name implies, are a geological curiosity worth seeing. Baratang adds an element of real exploration to the package and takes you away from the typical tourist circuit.
Havelock Island gives the beach experience, with Radhanagar Beach living up to its reputation. The sand is exceptional and the water is inviting and the whole vibe is relaxed yet not overcrowded. It is a perfect counterbalance to the more active days spent exploring Ross Island and Baratang. This five-day structure is working because it is mixing different experiences rather than focusing only on one aspect of Andaman. You get history, adventure, marine life, and beaches in equal measure.
